About OpenDXP

OpenDXP is a community-driven open source project that emerged from the previous Pimcore Community Edition. The project was initiated to maintain and further develop a code base licensed under the GNU General Public License v3 (GPLv3) in the long term and to make it available to the community for free use.

The fork was created in light of the fact that the further development of the Pimcore Community Edition was discontinued. OpenDXP is pursuing the goal of continuing an open, self-operating and license-free platform based on the existing community code.

OpenDXP is developed and maintained as an autonomous, independent project. It has no connection to Pimcore GmbH and is operated independently of its products, services or commercial offers.

The project is not positioned as a competitive offering to products or services of Pimcore GmbH and does not claim to replace, overlay or substitute existing Pimcore offerings. OpenDXP sees itself exclusively as the continuation and maintenance of an open code base in the spirit of the open source community.

The further development of OpenDXP is transparent, versioned and collaborative. Contributions from the community - for example in the form of code, documentation, tests or feedback - are expressly welcome and form the basis for the long-term existence of the project.

OpenDXP was initiated by DACHCOM.DIGITAL AG and is being further developed together with the community and volunteers.

Our principles

OpenDXP is developed according to clear and transparent principles. They form the framework for decisions in the project and serve as orientation for the community, users and contributors.

Open Source by Design

OpenDXP is completely open source and licensed under the GPLv3. The code is publicly accessible, traceable and can be used, tested and further developed by the community.

Stability before hype

OpenDXP focuses on predictable further development, clear versioning and long-term maintainability. Technical quality and traceability take precedence over short-term trends.

Ownership and control

OpenDXP is designed for self-determined operation. Users retain control over code, data, infrastructure and further development.

Contributing to OpenDXP

OpenDXP is developed openly and collaboratively. Contributions in the form of code, issues or documentation are welcome.
